Materials & Process
At Motyfe, we work primarily with PLA and PETG — materials chosen for their balance of durability, finish, and responsible production.
PLA (Plant-Based Material)
PLA is derived from renewable resources such as corn starch and sugarcane. It allows us to create precise forms while reducing reliance on petroleum-based plastics.
While PLA is not biodegradable in everyday environments, it has a lower carbon footprint than many traditional plastics and is well-suited for indoor objects designed to last.
PETG (Durable & Long-Lasting)
PETG is used for pieces that require added strength and heat resistance. It is highly durable, impact-resistant, and recyclable in facilities that accept PET plastics.
Made to Order
Every Motyfe piece is 3D printed only after you place an order.
This means:
-
no excess inventory
-
minimal material waste
-
fewer unnecessary resources used
Each object is printed layer by layer, finished by hand, and checked before it leaves the studio.
A Note on Sustainability
Sustainability is not a single claim — it’s a series of choices.
